Case Study: Colour Emporium candles

Last year we were happy to welcome another new member to the Stag Print customer family.

The Colour Emporium is a local small business that produces colourful handmade candles.

Founded by Katie who, following a year of lockdown, decided to do something creative again. It is incredibly important to The Colour Emporium that the products they create are unique and planet-friendly. Each candle is handcrafted using dip-dye methods, making a range of distinctive colours and shades to suit anybody’s colour palette.

With their ethically-made candles it only makes sense that they need sustainable packaging to match; this is where we came in…

Once the candles have dried, they are packaged in carton board boxes of various sizes, some holding three candles, some holding as many as six. They feature a die cut window to showcase the vibrant product inside. The back of the package hosts the required fire safety labels. Fortunately, we were knowledgeable about these labels; read our candle packaging blog to learn more.

Originally this paper packaging was being sourced from abroad; until Stag Print came to their attention. The original supplier was applying a plastic lamination to the boxes. We removed this and produced the environmentally-friendly packaging they were looking for – right here in the UK! The reduction in plastic and local delivery, rather than shipping from overseas, greatly reduced the carbon footprint of their candle packaging.

It was great to help a customer with a beautiful product that has a ‘bright’ future! And The Colour Emporium was delighted with these new boxes from a local Surrey source.

Katie, founder of The Colour Emporium added:

’We were surprised and pleased to find a local supplier that could produce the packaging we were looking for. Stag Print worked quickly and directly with me to match my requirements; the boxes were perfect!’
